Maxïmo Park at Shepherd’s Bush Empire
The O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire saw Maxïmo Park take to the stage with a masterclass in indie-rock, playing numerous songs from their fourth album The National Health, as well as some old classics for fans at the sold-out gig.
Following the show’s opening track, the ballad When I Was Wild, the gig quickly gathered pace with The National Health, fan favourite Girls Who Play Guitars, and Until the Earth Would Open played in quick succession.
The hazy electric sound of Apply Some Pressure and the frenetic Our Velocity ended the London leg of their European tour. The band later tweeted: “Shepherd’s Bush Empire started out amazing and just kept getting better. A really cracking show”. Maxïmo Park is certainly a live act not to miss.
