Do They Know It’s Christmas? – Band Aid 

In 1984, through intimidation and force of will, Bob Geldof managed to get the cream of 80s pop to help raise money for famine relief. This legendary Christmas song has raised millions for charity, and still remains the most memorable of all celebrity-organised songs. Do They Know It’s Christmas? has a great pop hook, a great vocal ensemble, necessary festive percussion and most importantly, a great cause.

Almost 30 years on it’s still a staple Christmas song. Warming, triumphant, and for charity there’s no better recipe for making a hit Christmas record.
