Baby Spice? Victoria Beckham’s new fashion venture

She started out as Posh Spice in the world’s most successful girl group to date, and since, Victoria Beckham has proved to be more than a fashionable pop star and footballer’s wife, building a fashion empire worth £15m in just three years and set to net a staggering £60m this year.

The busy entrepreneurial mother of four, who recently added to her brood with baby girl Harper, has decided to add to her stylish brand with a line of children’s clothes.

The star has begun sketching designs for the collection, which she hopes will reflect her family life. Now that she has a family consisting of boys and girls, she naturally wants to reflect this through her fashion, hence producing a line of clothes for children. She wants to create designs that are fun, practical and suit busy yet fashion-conscious families.

Husband David is supportive of the move and shares her enthusiasm on pursuing her new venture.

Adorable baby Harper seems to already share her mother’s passion for fashion and was taken – just a few weeks old then – on her first shopping trip with Mum in New York’s Prada store. Victoria commented at the time that Harper loved it, as if she were saying ‘Mummy I’m home!‘

Harper also received a lot of attention from fashion followers that day, already being labelled “one of the most stylish babies in celebrities’ land”. Without a doubt, she will be the perfect model for Mum Victoria to show off her collection.

The potential pricing of the collection has not yet been disclosed; however, judging by Mrs Beckham’s current brand – where garments cost anything from £1,000 and up – we are sure they will be aimed more at wealthy yummy mummies rather than working mums on a budget.
