Polished art: Models Own launch first Bottleshop in Westfield

Cosmetics brand Models Own is launching their very first Bottleshop at Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd’s Bush, London, in April. This is no ordinary nail bar – the innovative new shop unit is designed to look like a bottle of nail polish tipped over on its side – definitely an attractive prospect to a polish fiend like me.

Despite the recent economic troubles for many beauty brands, manicures appear recession-proof. The easiest way to update your look on the cheap is with a couple of coats of this season’s colour on your nails – whether you opt for a professional gel manicure that lasts a couple of weeks or do-it-yourself at home with your favourite brand of nail varnish. Models Own, renowned for their affordable cosmetics, have become Europe’s fastest growing cosmetics brand, selling a nail varnish every 15 seconds. A cult following has emerged of their high-quality products, with celebrity fans, including Jessie J, Nicola Roberts and Alexa Chung.

Mark Rodol, CEO of Models Own, says: ‘We live in a image-obsessed world and nail varnish has become the ultimate accessory.’ I couldn’t agree more – the right colour polish can add instant glamour to the simplest of outfits and perfectly groomed nails can speak volumes about a person.

Rodol explains the reasoning behind the concept of his company’s latest venture: ‘At Models Own, we like to do things differently. You hear about other brands trying to create “immersive shopping experiences” so we’ve taken this literally by asking people to actually shop in the world’s largest bottle of nail polish!’

With a prime location opposite Topshop, Apple and Zara, this is the first time the entire collection of Models Own nail polishes will be available in location. More than 200 colours will be on sale, as well as a full range of accessories and in-store exclusives. With a standard bottle priced at a reasonable £5 and so many shades to choose from, the only dilemma will be how to restrain yourself from purchasing armfuls of polishes!

No doubt the new Models Own’s Bottleshop will be an eye-catching attraction and buzzing with nail varnish fanatics come April.
