Pony Chops: a 21st-century Keith Haring

Pony Chops: a 21st-century Keith Haring

If you are looking for something so crazy it will blow all your family and friends away, there is only one way to go: Pony Chops. Despite their specialty of hand-painted shoes, Pony Chops have a large selection of bright and bizarre goodies to offer.

The British-based duo describe themselves as “zombie fighting” and “from outer space”, and looking at their creations, it’s hard to doubt it. As “out there” as they seem, they certainly have a very witty sense of humour.

For example, look at these original once-upon-a-time H&M ballerinas, now an original Pony Chops “Teddy Bear” pair of flats costing only a mere £40. They are defined by their pink heart-shaped noses and confused expressions and look to be in need of a good home (any takers?).

Have you always wanted a tattoo but been too chicken to actually go through with it? Pony Chops has the solution: wear one of their tattoo pin-up necklaces and everyone will believe you finally took that daring step. This necklace is entitled “Milk Me” and is a real steal at just £4.

Apart from items that can be worn, Pony Chops also produce hand-painted Russian dolls. These ones, entitled “Monster Bow”, are keen on covering themselves with bows and watching Gossip Girl. It’s £45 for this set of five, and Pony Chops are more than open-minded to whatever suggestions you may throw their way. Worth every penny.

Last but not least one of their enticing clutches.  This 1980s Jane Shilton Geometric Lilac Clutch Bag has their wacky touch with the black paint splatters here and there. How can you resist this clutch at the price of £8?

When it comes to Pony Chops, be selfish; think about you for a moment. Buy something for yourself from one of their collections, or just ask them to jazz up something you have at home but cannot throw away or you think is no longer fashionable. Do it!
