Cinnamon Collection are offering runners a free mango lassi for completing 5k
Two of chef Vivek Singh’s modern Indian restaurants in south-west London are offering runners a complimentary mango lassi throughout August and September to support their heroic commitment to the sport, even in the heat. Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea and Cinnamon Bazaar Richmond will serve the ice cold drink to anyone who has completed a run of at least five kilometres on the same day, as long as they can show evidence on a fitness tracking app.
The offer, which the team have called the Lassi Run, is on throughout the week from 1st August until 30th September. Customers must quote “Lassi Run” on arrival and show proof of their 5k to a member of staff in order to claim one complimentary mango lassi. The traditional Indian drink is non-alcoholic and yoghurt-based, made with fruit and spices and a perfect pick-me-up after exercising. Those who are looking for more can order food from the menus at either restaurant, which include chaats, curries, biryanis and sharing plates, with small dishes starting at £7.
The Cinnamon Collection comprises six restaurants under Singh, who serves as both executive chef and chief executive. Branches include The Cinnamon Club in Westminster, Cinnamon Kitchen in Battersea, City of London and Leeds (the last of which opened in May 2025) and Cinnamon Bazaar in Covent Garden and Richmond. Singh, who was born in West Bengal and trained in India before moving to the UK, opened the first location in Westminster in 2001 and has since developed a reputation for his contemporary approach to Indian cuisine that draws on regional recipes and European techniques.
This latest promotion is a response to continued enthusiasm for running in the UK, evidenced by increased use of tracking apps and attendance at organised events such as Park Run, as well as record numbers of applications for the London Marathon in April. Both restaurants taking part are near popular places to run, with Battersea’s riverside paths and the parkland trails around Richmond offering some of the most frequented scenic routes in south-west London. Both venues also have outdoor terraces where customers can sit and refuel. Walk-ins are accepted, though advance booking is recommended.
