Smoky eyes, nude lips: MAC enlists Carine Roitfeld

The latest fashionista to team up with MAC is none other than former Vogue Paris editor, Carine Roitfeld. The former model will collaborate on a limited edition colour cosmetics line, expected to be released this autumn.

Roitfeld has certainly been busy – her new magazine, CR Fashion Book, will be launched this September and she’s reportedly been very involved in her MAC collection, weighing in on everything from package design, product names and colour palettes.

Carine is famous for her signature bold brows, nude lips and smoky eyes, all bang on trend this year, and there’ll definitely be some correlation in her collection according to Women’s Wear Daily, who reported that although her make-up line with MAC will have an emphasis on the eyes, we can also expect some gorgeous nude lipsticks.

Furthermore, renowned fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti was enlisted to shoot Carine for the MAC campaign – the ad features Roitfeld with tousled hair in a slinky black negligee! Seduction was clearly the theme of the session as Carine works some seriously sultry eyes and literally exudes sex appeal – despite her impending grandmother status!

Unlike previous colourful MAC collaborations with the likes of Miss Piggy, Nicki Minaj, Iris Apfel and Daphne Guiness, Ms Roitfeld’s collection reflects her personality and exudes a gothic air of charm and glamour. It is a surprising choice for the typically bold and brightly coloured Mac collections, but one sure to be a hit when it hits the shops this autumn.

Smoky eyes and nude lips never go out of style, so I’m glad to see that Carine’s collection for MAC will help us nail it every time!
