Alphabet Bags has a bag for everyone

Alphabet Bags has a bag for everyone

Always in search of the perfect accessories, it’s always nice when you come across a new brand who sells something that you’ve never seen before. Alphabet Bags create simple accessories that stand out – cotton totes with a letter from the alphabet printed on them.

Focusing on the “simple, bold and cheerful,” the company was created by husband and wife team, Lucas and Hayley, in 2008. Born out of their spare room in their London home, the company has grown from its launch with 26 cotton totes each with a letter of the alphabet printed on it.

The alphabet totes went down well and the ideas behind the bags started to grow and with even more enthusiasm, the couple started designing and creating more products. From totes with slogans and small purses with letters printed on them, to statement leopard print bags, there’s certainly a lot to have a look at. Typography is obviously a passion of the couple: they have chosen, with understanding and appreciation, what typeface to use on which product, showing off the font in all its design form.

There is also a new selection of totes for summer which have slogans printed in oranges and yellows which read things like sunshine is delicious” and “oh what a beautiful day” – these are just perfect for ushering in and welcoming those sun soaked days. One of these bags (below) was shown off by Hayley herself on the couple’s blog post which most recently featured snaps from their trip to Paris to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. The bag fitted in very well with the heat of the city, as spring turns to summer in the timeless City of Love.

Have a look at the many bags that are on the Alphabet Bag website: there are so many different designs to choose from, you can’t possibly go wrong. There is also an online gallery which features work from other artists and designers to offer printed typography for the home. Check it out here!
