Fashion runs on the motto “out with the old and in with the new”. Every day new designers are coming up with different methods to take the fashion industry by storm. We at The Upcoming have learnt that boosting fashion to the next level does not involve taking drastic measures. Instead, it is the little things that have a big impact. This is especially true with a new media fashion company called Apliiq, based in downtown LA. 

So, what is it that’s new and exciting about this upcoming company? Well, Apliiq create one-of-a-kind pieces through the use of rare, vintage fabrics and apply these fabrics to everyday garments; it is this which makes Apliiq different to the usual high street shops.

Apliiq strongly believe that people express themselves through the fabrics they choose and wear. They advocate this idea by offering limited edition garments as well as custom-made products, where visitors can choose the funky fabrics and perfect placements to enhance the plain apparel. This unique process allows customers to express themselves through their own compositions and designs.

What we love about Apliiq is that the company wants to move away from big labels and well-known names; they want everyone to be viewed as an equal without commercialism separating one person from another. Apliiq is new, different and ahead of the game. It’s everything high street fashion isn’t; it allows us to design a garment, which represents independent people as an individual. 

This new media fashion company is branching out internationally. You can either order a pre-made garment or customise your own garment and have it delivered to your house. Thankfully, despite being based in LA, Apliiq delivers to loads of countries, including the UK. We cannot wait to stock our wardrobes up with this distinctive apparel this summer!
