NYFW – Zang Toi S/S 2013 collection
Romance was in the air Sunday night at Lincoln Center! Soft colors made bold statements with French classical music setting the mood of being in the South of France. With looks named Bouquet D’Amor silk twill blouse, a Romance at Cote D’Azure ball gown and a Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc mini dress, there is no question Zang Toi is aiming to romanticise and indulge women with the finer things in life.
The models displayed a modernised twist to romantic era clothing in 31 different looks. Gowns were embellished with beautiful crystals on the neck, shoulders and hem line. Big delicate bows and puffed sleeves added a touch of sophistication. Soft colored flowers were also precisely placed at the back of low cut dresses giving something pleasing to the eye from every angle. The menswear also echoed the dress code of the elite with a knee length coat, bowtie, ascots and top hats. There is no wonder why names like Ivana Trump, Kristie Alley and the former Miss Universe Wendy Fitzwilliam among others were in attendance. C’est Magnifique appropriately played after his grand finale and Toi was deservingly greeted with a standing ovation for his elegant display which successfully captured the enchantment of the French Riviera.
