Jordan Askill x Topshop: charming jewellery collaboration

Jordan Askill, one of the jewellery world’s hottest names right now, has released a collaboration with high street chain Topshop. Already a favourite with celebs, Bond girl Naomie Harris, Twilight star Kristen Stewart and performance artist and singer Patrick Wolf have all been spotted in his designs – Askill is sure to become a wardrobe essential.

Askill has a timeless style, which lends itself perfectly to jewellery design. The Jordan Askill x Topshop collaboration is comprised of sculptural panther pendants and cuffs, cute cloud and heart rings and bracelets, each with delicate charms, in gold plated brass and rhodium and pewter.

Askill describes where he found inspiration for the collection: “I wanted to design classic, cute personal jewellery that could go with every look and feel. I wanted to add a sculptural element to bring the jewellery into the next dimension. For this we looked at panthers, the idea of running away with these majestic creatures, reminiscent of ancient Egypt with a hand-carved quality and connection with the past. Each piece is precious like a locket or detachable pendants that you can keep with you or pass on to your friends.”

The range teams soft cloud shapes and contrasting delicate heart motifs with empowering panther pendants. The whole collection has an air of sentimentality about it alongside a strong feminine ideology. It is somewhere between Cleopatra and Cinderella.

Australian-born Askill worked in Paris with Hedi Slimane at Dior Homme, before going solo and launching his debut collection in 2010. As well as working in fashion, Askill is also an artist who creates sculpture projects. His jewellery designs, a result of these two passions, are created as mini-meaningful sculptures, which can be carried around. Askill’s jewellery has become synonymous with quality, attention to detail and using Fairtrade materials as much as possible, making them a firm fashion favourite.

The Jordan Askill x Topshop, who are always hot on a new designer, collaboration has made his unique style suddenly very affordable, so bag the collection whilst you can!
