Christmas with the Supreme Fabulettes at Leicester Square Theatre

Christmas with the Supreme Fabulettes at Leicester Square Theatre | Cabaret review

This year, the first Christmas present was definitely not under the Christmas tree but at the Leicester Square Theatre: a fabulous evening with The Supreme Fabulettes.

Welcoming 400 people for their first Christmas show together, Miss Vanilla Lush, Miss Vicki Vivacious and Miss Maddison Lee set the stage on fire during 90 amazing minutes. Dressed with so many different outfits it would make many girls green with envy, the three outstanding singers alternated Christmas songs and Glee-style song mash-ups of classic 1960s Motown hits and contemporary songs.

Beyoncé, Adele, The Supremes, Amy Winehouse are among all songs sang by the artists, sometimes in solo-numbers, sometimes together, always with panache and harmony. The girliest all-male group was joined during the spectacle by Sam Buttery, contestant of The Voice, and his pianist; they were, as the audience, really happy to share this pre-Christmas party with the superb ladies. Behind all this great performance stands a creative team well known for working with the most famous pop stars: John Themis (musical arrangements), Terry Ronald (vocal arrangements), Stevie Stewart (costume designer)

The Leicester Square Theatre seemed to be the ideal place for a show like this, as it was possible for the public to get up on its feet, clapping, laughing, dancing and singing, for its own pleasure and the entertainers.

Sometimes funny, sometimes moving, always sparkling and never too much, Christmas With The Supreme Fabulettes was a must-see of this month, an unforgettable cabaret. Filling all the theatre with their energy and enthusiasm, the misses delivers a performance that makes you wish, as they sing, that “it could be Christmas every day”! But even if this wish won’t come true, you can always book your ticket for their next show, and surely won’t regret it.
