Last night we were invited to The Arts Club to mark the launch of the A/W13 collection of Liam Gallagher’s label, Pretty Green.

Rock’n’roll celebrity guests in attendance included Kasabian’s Tom Meighan, The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett with partner former All Saint Natalie Appleton, and pregnant Fearne Cotton arrived with boyfriend Jesse Wood in tow, the guitarist son of Rolling Stone Ronnie, who is also the new face of the brand.

Other guests in attendance headed down to show their support included Inbetweeners star James Buckley who appeared to be wearing a mod-style outfit from the label.

The preview collection compromising of men’s blazers, shirts, jackets, scarves and coats was unveiled on stage; displayed under spotlights and dressed on wooden mannequins.

Having gained a reputation of being a Mod label, the 60s theme could still be seen through the paisley designed shirt, but the rest of the casual designs had a slightly more modern feel. The sharply tailored blazers taken from the black label and silk scarves had more of an English gentleman feel rather than the rebellious rock and roll style associated with Gallagher.

The launch sees the sixth season of the brand, and what is next for Liam’s label?
Design director Pat Salter remarked: “We’re looking into accessories heavily, having dabbled in footwear.” Cue a waggle of a leopard and paisley print espadrille upon his foot. “The world’s our oyster really, we’d like to think. There’s the opportunity to grow into what we want.”
