Cassie remains Forever 21

Cassie remains Forever 21

In view of the current festival season and increasingly sun-filled skies, Forever 21’s summer collection is one not to be missed.

From Rap to Fashion: East Coast meets West Coast again in this latest fashion collection.

Previously the face of the Sean John women’s collection, Cassie is now fronting her very own Forever 21 campaign.  The new collection is reminiscent of other celebrity ― fashion collaborations, such as Rihanna for River Island.

Key to the success of the launch, the Bad Boy songstress has been greatly influenced by Los Angeles in all its eccentricities and vibrancy.

The collection has been divided into two parts: the more preppy feel of the Westside collection, a myriad of colours and authentic LA summer weather, actualised with the laid-back coolness of the city. This side of the collection features bright pops of colour, vibrant footwear, oversized sunglasses, bold crop tops ― perfect for this summer weather ― and electric-hued shirts.

The second part of the collection is heavily aesthetic: with a more artistic foundation, this side of the collection stemmed from an urban feel, featuring strong influences from Los Angeles street wear and vintage-inspired pieces, and more notably the free urban spirit of the ’90s (think TLC).

The collection will be available at Forever 21 stores and online at the Forever 21 website.

The singer dons the collection herself, wearing a denim crop top, coupled with an Aztec print mini-skirt and complimented with a red jacket and matching Aztec sunglasses. The backdrop is the beach and her skin is sunkissed. This is summer. This is fashion 2013.
