Illamasqua has recently delved into their darker side. We’re not talking about dark colours, we mean all things dark, ghoulish, and paranormal of course! After all, why be normal, when you can be paranormal?  The innovative make-up brand has focused on exploring a “new universe” of unexpected textures and formulas with the launch of their Paranormal collection. For those of you familiar with this amazing brand, Illamasqua is famous for bold strong hues. Somehow they make the craziest colours look stunning on both supermodels and us mere mortals.

Illamasqua Summer 2013 Paranormal Collection

Creative Director Alex Box said: “The Paranormal collection was inspired by unbridled kinetic energy, spectral light and transcendental emotional forces. The things we can’t explain, that we can only feel, the place between dreams and reality; the door of perception is open and beckoning through, step into the light!”

The collection features the Paranormal Palette (£34), which is a water-resistant eye shadow formula that has a silky consistency and contains a spherical fine particle silicone, which ensures ease of use and longwearing hold. It’s made up of four shades Paranormal (cerise), Aura (warm copper), Possession (cool green) and Trance (soft violet). New Precision Gel Liner (£18) a potted black liquid liner and New Gleam in Supernatural (£18) a new lightweight warm golden bronze highlighter.  Two lipsticks (£16.50) to be worn in the fashion of two-toned lip look, a little dramatic but it adds impact to the paranormal look the brand is trying to portray.

Illamasqua Summer 2013 Paranormal Collection

A brand new product is featured in the form of the Hydra Veil (£27.50), which acts as part hydrator and part primer and is in the form of a self-leveling gel. It was created to enhance make-up application through skin re-hydration for an optimal base. Three high impact, limited edition nail polishes (£15) each in Omen (bright green), Ouija (bright pink) and Séance (bright violet) and a UV Top Coat (£13) that can be used over any nail polish to make it UV Black Light friendly! We say it’s perfect for festival season.

We dare you to get in touch with your dark side this summer.   The new line is out and available from April 30th.
