Kevin Geddes S/S ’14 preview

Kevin Geddes S/S ’14 preview

Make way for London’s hottest new designer! Kevin Geddes is here, with clean, simple lines and beautifully bold prints, the S/S ’14 collection is sure to take the fashion world by storm! The 30-piece debut collection was delicately displayed, ready for fashion insiders, PR and friends at The Groucho Club, Soho on 28th August 2013. The Upcoming were there to get a sneak preview of the collection and talk to the designer himself.

Geddes, who has previously worked for the likes of Richard Nicoll and Lulu Kennedy, has had years of industry experience and recently decided to branch out and create his own line, launching in Spring 2014.

Inspired by “the mundaneness of British drinking culture, big brand packages and bruises”, the collection is packed with gorgeous, unique prints, also designed by Geddes. “The prints are based on Morse code and other hidden messages and codes” says Geddes. The computer-based, hand screen-printed designs were all done by Geddes himself, made with pigment prints and also foil prints.

Kevin stressed the importance of “bringing production back to the UK”, saying that he wants as much of the production of his lines to be done in the UK, as opposed to it being done overseas.

The collection, constructed with silk, wool crepe, wax cotton and, even a more unusual, shadow stripe jersey (most commonly found on football t-shirts) has an RRP ranging from £200 for separate pieces to £1000 for a dress.

If you’re wondering where you can get your hands on your own piece of Geddes work, look no further than Net-A-Porter, where the collection should be available this coming spring.
