To mark the countdown to Christmas we will feature a festive song during the ten days leading up to Christmas Day. From the well-known to the more obscure, each tune is sure to help you to get into the Christmas spirit!

19th December 2013

Last-Christmas7. Last Christmas – Wham!

Last Christmas is a standout track on the long list of Christmas-themed records. Written by George Michael and released in 1984, Last Christmas is a song about lost love and heartbreak that made a Christmas hit with only two words referring to this festive period. In the video – set at a ski resort – George Michael, his bandmate Andrew Ridgeley, and a group of friends spread the Christmas spirit by putting up some Christmas decorations, engaging in snow fights and having Christmas dinner together. The highest selling single ever without topping the UK charts has since been covered by countless artists, which proves there is nothing like an old classic.
