Cheap and easy DIY facial masks for beautiful skin

Cheap and easy DIY facial masks for beautiful skin

If you are tired of spending tonnes of money on creams and masks then we have good news for you. Whether you want to exfoliate your face or battle oily skin, the solution might be in your kitchen. These masks are simple to make and perfect for experimenting. Simply pick a base for your mask and then add whatever your skin is craving!

Bases

Egg white and egg yolk masks

As if scrambled eggs weren’t already the perfect proof that egg yolks and whites are the perfect combo. Simply separate the egg whites and yolk of one egg and keep them in separate bowls. The egg whites are perfect on an oily skin as they draw out the oil. The yolks contain hydrating and nourishing nutrients. As they are naturally rich in vitamin A they are great for battling acne and treating dry and flaky skin.

Bananas

Bananas are another great way to protect from free radicals and slow down the aging process as they contain anti-oxidants and vitamin E.

Yoghurt

Yoghurt is great if you suffer from acne as it contains live cultures. Its antibiotic properties can help eliminate the bacteria responsible for acne.

Avocado

There is no end to the magical properties of avocados; they are rich in healthy fats and vitamin B. Vitamin B not only helps soothe inflamed skin it can also protect it from free radicals, which can cause wrinkles. The healthy fats help hydrate your skin and leave it feeling smooth. And don’t toss the empty skins straight away! Rub them over your hands and rinse for a quick hydrating fix for your hands.

Extras

A tablespoon of any of the below ingredients will give your mask an extra boost.

Honey

Honey can make your skin firmer and its antibacterial properties can help reduce swelling from spots.

Olive oil

Olive oil is great for protecting dry skin as it locks moisture into your skin cells.

Lemon or orange juice

Something a little stronger to battle your blackheads. But be careful not to overdo it, only use this up to twice a week as the acid can irritate your skin as well.
