The world of beauty is forever evolving with the introduction of new trends that can often be unconventional, surprising or plain weird. Over the years, Instagram has become an easily accessible way for beauty lovers to spot the latest trends and fads that are breaking the internet. Whether it be bubble face masks, holographic hair or chrome nails, all at some point have burst on to our news feeds as the next big beauty thing for 2017.

However recently it has been feather brows that have emerged as the latest love it or hate it trend to hit the beauty sphere. Feather brows have been the talk of the internet since reportedly being made popular by Finnish make-up artist Stella Sironen. According to Sironen, the playful brow look was achieved by parting her brows horizontally and using a glue stick to ensure that they stayed in place.

Sironen initially thought her featherlike brows were funny and took to Instagram to introduce her audience to the new upcoming trend. The post has since garnered major attention with her 70, 000 followers. Subsequently, the feather brow has gone viral, with many inspired to recreate the look on Instagram using the hashtag #featherbrows.

It’s an understatement to say that this latest bold brow trend has caused quite a stir in Sironen’s comment section. Her followers have gone on to describe the trend as everything from “iconic” to “cool” to “disgusting” to “gross”. It certainly has the beauty community divided on whether the feather-inspired brow is a hit or miss.

Love it or hate it, for now, the internet looks to have a new beauty obsession and its feather brows. Will you be trying this latest brow trend?
