Michael Kors buys Jimmy Choo for £900 million

Yes, you heard right. And we are just as upset that we couldn’t draw out £900 million from our bank account to buy Jimmy Choo…

Reports from The Guardian stated that Jimmy Choo was put up at auction, with Michael Kors beating a range of international fashion houses to the winning spot.

Michael Kors is a well-known luxury accessories designer that creates glamorous and timeless pieces. His company, established in 1981, set to capture every girls dream, whether that be with the perfect handbag, a killer pair of heels or classic accessories.

Speaking of the acquisition, Kors described the new partnership as “ideal”, while chief executive, John Idol, added:

“Jimmy Choo is known worldwide for its glamorous and fashion-forward footwear. The company is a leader in setting fashion trends. Its innovative designs and exceptional craftsmanship resonate with trendsetters globally. We believe that Jimmy Choo is poised for meaningful growth in the future and we are committed to supporting the strong brand equity that Jimmy Choo has built over the last 20 years.”
