Pho launches world’s first Pink Sriracha sauce with £5 Pink Wednesdays menu for August

Pho, the Vietnamese street food restaurant group, will be serving what they say is the world’s first pink sriracha sauce across its UK restaurants starting tomorrow, alongside a new £5 Pink Wednesdays menu that runs every Wednesday till the end of August.

The promotion allows customers who visit wearing pink to buy selected dishes and a cocktail at £5 for each on Wednesdays in August. Options include crispy spring rolls, summer rolls with a choice of chicken, prawn, vegetarian or plant-based fillings, seasoned crispy chicken wings served with the special sauce, and Hackney Gelato ice cream and sorbet. A Spicy Pink Margarita, made with tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, dragonfruit and Thai chillies, is also included at the same price (except for at locations in Scotland).

Pho was founded by Stephen and Juliette Wall, a British couple who opened their first venue in London after travelling in Vietnam. The chain now operates more than 50 sites, stretching from Edinburgh to Exeter. The majority of its menu is certified gluten-free by Coeliac UK, and dairy-free and vegetarian options are also available. Marketing director Libby Andrews said, “Not only does the new SABZU Pink Sriracha look amazing, it is delicious and so fun for summer. We are really excited to be the only place in the UK to serve it for the month of August.”

The sauce, produced by Thai brand SABZU (owned by Bamboomart), is available exclusively at Pho, in person and via Deliveroo, until the end of the month. It’s made from white Thai chillies grown in northern Thailand and takes its colour from hibiscus flower, which the company says lends the sauce a fruity opening note before a spicier finish.

Dan Pathomvanich, chief executive of the company, said: “We believe Pink Sriracha perfectly captures today’s appetite for bold, playful flavours while staying true to authentic Thai ingredients, and we are proud to bring this exclusive collaboration to life with one of the UK’s most loved Vietnamese restaurant brands.”
