Phil Howard to take over design restaurant Chucs Serpentine for a special dinner on 7 March

Celebrated chef Phil Howard will cook with his team for one night only at Chucs Serpentine, the restaurant designed by the late Zaha Hadid. The menu will be curated to showcase the ethos behind Elystan Street, Howard’s michelin-starred Chelsea operation, and will exemplify the skills that earned the chef’s reputation as one of Britain’s most exciting and well-respected culinary talents. The collaboration with Howard is part of the Chucs Serpentine Supper Series, following the first, unforgettable night last November, when Ruth Rogers of The River Café hosted a dinner.

The breathtaking dining room at Chucs Serpentine provides the perfect backdrop to savour such outstanding food – a recipe for a memorable evening. The seasonal menu showcases Howard’s dexterous French style of cookery whilst presenting British and Italian produce in a contemporary way.

Punchy and vibrant flavours will take centre stage and guests can choose from starters such as Rillettes of Smoked Mackerel with Toasted Muffins, Sweet Pickled Cucumber & Fragrant Dill Oil, or an Italian Home-cured Bresaola with Celeriac Remoulade & a Pickled Field Mushroom Dressing. Following this – in true Italian style – all guests will indulge in a pasta course of Hand-cut Strozzapreti with Chicken, Truffles, Butter and Parmesan.

Three mouth-watering mains are available to choose from including Roasted Octopus, Sweet Pepper & Chilli Hummus with Baked Sweet Fennel, Blood Orange & Olive Oil, or an Aged Rib of Cumbrian Beef with Wild Mushrooms, Potato Galettes, Truffle Emulsion and Red Wine. A vegetarian option of Stuffed Field Mushrooms, Garlic Puree, Roscoff Onions, Creamed Potato & Parsley is also available.

The expertly curated menu will be rounded off with either a Brillat-Savarin Cheesecake with Seville Orange or a carefully selected cheese course.

Speaking about the decision to collaborate with Chucs, Phil Howard commented: “Every now and then, an invitation comes along that just has to be pounced on! The dining room in the now iconic Magazine at the Serpentine is without a doubt one of the finest dining spaces in London – and with an open kitchen provides the perfect setting for a collaborative dinner such as this“.

The four-course feast is available for £150 per person and a wine pairing can be selected in addition. Spaces are limited and are offered on a first come first serve basis.
