Wildflowers restaurant brings new Mediterranean dining experience to Belgravia

Wildflowers, a new restaurant helmed by chef Aaron Potter and interior stylist Laura Hart, is set to open its doors in Belgravia this autumn. The establishment, located in the quaint Newson’s Yard, promises to deliver a dining experience inspired by Mediterranean cultures – specifically Italy, France, and Spain – infused with a modern twist.

Chef Aaron Potter, known for his tenure at Michelin-starred restaurants across the globe including Sydney, New York, and London’s own Trinity and Elystan Street, embarks on his first solo venture with Wildflowers. With this project, he aims to showcase his passion for Mediterranean cuisine through a menu that emphasises hyper-seasonal ingredients for innovative yet uncomplicated dishes. Alongside the main dining area, Wildflowers will also feature a wine bar and deli.

Co-Founder Laura Hart is an interior stylist and florist with a background in high end interior retail management, notably Neptune, Heal’s and Petersham Nurseries, currently working across events and lifestyle photoshoots. She has curated the interiors, designing to reflect the stylish ambience of its Newson’s Yard location. Expectations are set for an elegantly decorated space that complements the vibrant menu. The atmosphere wants to be of convivial dining, where guests can indulge in generous courses and receive warm hospitality, all within a laid-back setting.

Highlights from food offering include Moules Farcies in wild garlic & parsley butter, Grilled Sheep’s Ricotta with fine beans and dandelion, and BBQ Herdwick Lamb with Wildflower harissa and labneh. Desserts promise to be a treat for the senses with flavoursome combinations like Strawberries with Cava Jelly, Basil, Chantilly Cream; and Lemon Thyme Crema Catalana.

In line with the restaurant’s commitment to seasonality and local sourcing, the upstairs wine bar will present an intimate space inspired by the cicchetti and pintxos bars of Italy and Spain. The wine list comprises an array of European wines, including Wildflowers’ own wine on tap, alongside a selection of vermouths, amaros, and spritzes.

The daily offerings from the in-house deli, ranging from pastries and sandwiches to a curated selection of provisions such as Italian olive oils, house-baked focaccia, and charcuterie, will cater to both dine-in and takeaway preferences. The deli aims to complement the restaurant’s ethos of seasonal freshness and Mediterranean flair.

Aaron Potter and Laura Hart said, “For us, restaurants are all about eating together, sharing great food with good company in a friendly and relaxed environment and that’s exactly what we want Wildflowers to be.”
