Transformers One to premiere in October, revealing the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron

The highly anticipated animated film Transformers One is set to premiere exclusively in cinemas on 11th October 2024. This groundbreaking movie explores the untold origin story of the iconic characters Optimus Prime and Megatron, who begin as close allies before becoming archenemies. The narrative examines their early friendship and the events that led to the transformation of their home planet, Cybertron.

Directed by Josh Cooley, Transformers One is the first fully computer-generated animation film in the Transformers franchise. The film boasts a high-profile voice cast including Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax (who later becomes Optimus Prime), Brian Tyree Henry as D-16, Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1 and Keegan-Michael Key as B-127, with notable appearances by Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm.

The production is a collaboration between Paramount Animation and Hasbro, in association with New Republic Pictures. It features producers such as Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Michael Bay and Mark Vahradian. The story is penned by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, with the screenplay crafted by Eric Pearson alongside Barrer and Ferrari.

Transformers One is based on the popular Hasbro Transformers action figures, which have sparked various adaptations since their inception.
