Crust Bros to open largest custom pizza restaurant in Covent Garden

Crust Bros, a London-based brand known for its customisable Neapolitan-style pizzas, will open its largest venue to date in Covent Garden on Monday 7th July. The new location, on Bedford Street in the heart of the West End, will feature 135 covers spread across two floors. The opening marks a significant expansion for the restaurant group, which has twice previously won the National Pizza Award, and aims to bring its signature pizzas and sides to a wider audience.

To mark the launch, Crust Bros will be giving away free pizza to diners from 12pm to 5pm on opening day, with a dine-in only policy. A unique feature for the event will be the presence of a pizza stylist, commissioned by the brand to help customers create their pizzas. According to the company, “Crust Bros is all about personalisation – great tasting pizza exactly the way you want it, with no side order of pretentiousness”. Diners can choose from classic Neapolitan or gluten-free dough, with a range of sauces, meats, cheeses and vegetables (no pineapple!).

The menu will include both a Fave Pizzas section, featuring Naples-inspired classics and Crust Bros’ own creations, and the option for diners to build their own. Signature pizzas include the Straight Outta Hell (with tomato, mozzarella, chicken, chillies, pepperoni and nduja), Nonna’s Yard (with caramelised onions, goat’s cheese, mushrooms and pesto) and the Vegan Harlem Truffle (with a truffle cream base and vegan mozzarella). Dough is made fresh on-site daily, with a proofing period of 48-72 hours before being baked at high temperatures to achieve the brand’s characteristic charred “leopard print” crust.

The Covent Garden branch will also introduce new side dishes, notably a savoury take on Italian bombas – enriched doughnuts – with fillings such as six-hour ragu and bechamel in the Lasagna Bomba. Other variations are the Nduja Bomba and Blue Cheese Bomba. Dessert options feature sweet bombas, tiramisu and a gelato menu developed in collaboration with local business La Gelateria. The drinks menu will offer a selection of cocktails, including two versions of the Negroni, as well as soft drinks like Lavender Lemonade and Kiwi Lemon Soda. Beer will be served in frozen tankards.
