Xi Home Dumpling Bay celebrates first anniversary with free pork soup bun giveaway
Xi Home Dumpling Bay will be giving away 365 free pork soup buns to dine-in customers on the 1st of July. The giveaway marks the first anniversary of the restaurant’s Spitalfields location on Blossom Street, in East London. Diners will be eligible for a free soup bun with the purchase of any main dish, with the offer available until all 365 buns have been claimed.
Specialising in Northeastern Chinese dumplings, Xi Home Dumpling Bay opened its doors in Spitalfields in July 2023, offering a menu that includes Dan Dan Noodles, Lobster Dumplings, salads, soups, and other Chinese dishes. Since then, the restaurant has developed a following in the local area, with its soup buns frequently highlighted on social media for their distinctive presentation.
Other locations include Edgware Road in The Bang Bang Oriental Food Hall and Covent Garden.
Fresh ingredients, thin and tender wrappers, as well as rich and juicy fillings, are the hallmarks of Xi Home Dumplings Bay, reflecting the Northerner’s generosity and hospitality. The open-glass kitchen allows a glimpse of chefs kneading the dough, mixing the fillings, and wrapping the parcels of hearty comfort.
Owner Wenjun Xiang, who has been recognised on the Forbes 30 Under 30 and CODE Hospitality’s 30 Under 30 lists, expressed great excitement to see what the next year will bring, following what she described as a successful first year of trading. The soup bun giveaway is intended to celebrate the restaurant’s milestone and to thank customers for their support over the past year.
The pork soup bun, a large steamed bun filled with hot soup that is traditionally sipped through a straw, has proven popular among regulars at the restaurant. The offer is limited to one bun per person and applies only to eat-in customers, and the buns will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
