Grand Hotel Fasano summer 2025 season showcases new chefs, cultural events and wellness upgrades

The summer season at the Grand Hotel Fasano in Gardone Riviera, Italy is in full swing, with new culinary offerings and a refreshed cultural and wellness programme. The five-star luxury hotel, located on the western shore of Lake Garda, reopened in April following ongoing renovations and new appointments, including a cultural curator and a new head chef at two of its dining establishments.

Chef Claudio Santini has taken the helm at both Trattoria Il Pescatore and Magnolia, bringing a renewed focus to seafood and Mediterranean cuisine with Asian influences. In his words, “The Trattoria Il Pescatore must establish itself as a place where guests can enjoy delicious dishes. A safe harbour for lovers of gastronomic tradition, innovation and, above all, fish.”

Meanwhile, the Michelin-starred Il Fagiano restaurant continues under the direction of chef Maurizio Bufi, who has introduced three new tasting menus for the summer season: ME Morie, Evolution and Dalla Terra. “The arrival of a new season gives me the opportunity to continue sharing my idea of cuisine through the three tasting menus, and to do so with different ingredients,” says Bufi. The first offers dishes created to recall memories of flavours and scents experienced throughout the chef’s life. In Dalla Terra, he celebrates the plant world, as seen by himself and Rama Redzepi – the bar manager who curates the cocktail pairing. Finally, Bufi describes Evolution as “the path on which I express myself 100%, developing new dishes to create a true sensory experience”.

The hotel’s cultural programme has also been updated under the guidance of newly appointed art historian Elisabetta Bresciani. A new series titled Aperitivo d’Autore has launched, featuring seven events combining art forms such as literature, painting, sculpture and photography with signature cocktails. Guests will also have the opportunity to join guided day trips to nearby art cities such as Brescia, Verona and Venice, as well as visit local artists’ studios and private collections.

In addition to its culinary and cultural updates, the Grand Hotel Fasano continues to invest in its wellness facilities. The 3,600-square-metre Aqva Spa, renovated two years ago, now provides new treatments and collaborations with leading complementary health and design brands. The hotel has also maintained its Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Rating for the third consecutive year, and celebrates 135 years of operation under the same family ownership.
