Brixton will host its first Beer and Wine Festival this autumn, inviting locals and visitors to enjoy tastings, meetups and offers at a range of venues in the area.

Local wine bar Finch is playing a central role in the inaugural festival. Running from 2nd to 28th September, the wine component is a collaboration between Brixton Village and Finch owners, Fables & Company, and aims to make the drink more accessible while fostering a stronger sense of community in the neighbourhood. Every Sunday, Brixton Village will host free mini wine fairs. The first three will be held in the Brixton Village Courtyard, with a larger event planned for 28th September that will extend into Market Row. Attendees can expect tastings, discounted bottles and glasses and the opportunity to meet producers such as Henners, London Cru, Graft and others. Live music will accompany the festivities each weekend, with performances organised by Brixton Village Lates and Handson Family Music.

Patrons can purchase a Festival Pack for £3 at any participating venue, which provides access to a range of discounts, including 25% off all wines by the glass at Finch. Other venues taking part in the wine festival include The Laundry, Vining Street Wine Club, Guzzl, Courtesan and Cavavin, each offering their own promotions. 50p from every pack sold will be donated to Wild’s Club, a charity supporting kitchen and living gardens in schools, with proceeds from this event directed to schools in Brixton.

The beer festival will take place from 1st October to 2nd November, following a similar format, and will also feature the charitable element. Participating venues include Finch Hideaway, Kraft, The Laundry, Craft, Guzzl, Harlem, Supercute, The Joint and Henge, and Sunday courtyard beer fairs are scheduled for 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th October.

“This festival is about more than just wine, it’s about Brixton,” says Andrew Gray, founder of Fables & Company. “We wanted to create something that feels inclusive and rooted in the community. Finch is proud to be part of a movement that brings people together over a glass of something delicious, while also giving back to the place we love. Our mission has always been to make wine accessible to all, and this is just another step in the right direction.”
