SIPS Barcelona brings avant-garde Old Fashioned tour to Hoxton hotels in four European cities this November

SIPS Barcelona, ranked third on the 2023 list of The World’s 50 Best Bars, is taking its cocktail concept on the road this November with a four-city European tour. Organised in partnership with Woodford Reserve and The Hoxton hotels, the event will feature one-night-only bar takeovers in Paris, London, Amsterdam and Florence between 20th and 28th November, with further details expected to be released in the coming weeks. The initiative coincides with Old Fashioned Month and aims to showcase SIPS’s modern interpretations of the classic cocktail.

The tour is led by co-founders Simone Caporale and Marc Álvarez, both well-known figures in the international bartending scene. Caporale is a previous recipient of the Industry Icon Award, while Álvarez is known for his work elevating cocktail culture in Spain. Together, they will bring their signature avant-garde” style to each of the four Hoxton hotel venues, offering guests a chance to sample innovative variations of the Old Fashioned. Each visit will feature four different takes on the traditional cocktail, among them the DE 60 Old Fashioned, described as full-bodied, and the Oxid, which incorporates oxidised wine. The drinks will be accompanied by curated snacks and music from local DJs, with no reservations or tickets required.

Caporale and Álvarez’s flying visit to Europe forms part of a broader collaboration between SIPS, Woodford Reserve and The Hoxton to mark Old Fashioned Month. Beginning on 1st November, the DE 60 Old Fashioned is available at all 18 Hoxton hotel bars worldwide, offering cocktail enthusiasts the chance to experience SIPS’s approach to mixology without travelling to their flagship bar in Barcelona.
