El Pirata brings Spanish flair to Mayfair with festive tapas menu for group celebrations

El Pirata, an independent Spanish tapas restaurant which has been operating for over three decades in London’s Mayfair, has launched a seasonal menu to mark the Christmas period.

This year’s Christmas Party Menu has been curated by Executive Head Chef Chaxi Guinzo and features a selection of classic and contemporary Spanish dishes. The menu includes cured meats such as Jamón Ibérico 100% 5J Bellota, Padrón Peppers from Galicia, Ham Croquettes, and Fried Cod Cheeks with lemon aioli. There are also heartier offerings like Slow-cooked Lamb Shoulder and Roasted Cauliflower with romesco sauce, as well as traditional Spanish side courses, the likes of Patatas Bravas. The dessert list comprises Churros and Turrones, a type of nougat typically eaten in Spain during the holiday season. Available from this month, the offering is designed for group dining and is available for parties of six or more.

A vegetarian version of the menu is also available, which includes Grilled Asparagus with Manchego sauce, Roasted Sweet Potato with goat’s cheese, Fried Aubergine with honey and Cabrales cheese, and Spinach and Payoyo Croquettes. Both menus are priced at £49 per person, or £40 per person for the vegetarian option, with a minimum booking of six people.

The restaurant can accommodate up to 70 guests in its downstairs wine cellar, making it suitable for larger gatherings, while also catering to smaller groups and private bookings.

Upstairs, on one side, there are stools for counter seating around the bar, and on the other side, the dining room presents a backdrop of Picasso and Miró prints. There is also the option of al fresco dining, with a few tables next to the ground floor entrance. The whole space is decorated with colourful baubles, garlands and Christmas trees, for the perfect atmosphere for a full immersion in the festive vibes, with flair and neighbourhood spirit.
