Roti Chai launches festive Indian feast menu in Marylebone as alternative to traditional Christmas dining

Modern Indian restaurant Roti Chai in Marylebone has launched its new Festive Feast menu, available from this week in the Dining Room. The seasonal offering, which is priced at £35 per person, is designed to provide an alternative to the traditional Christmas turkey dinner, featuring a selection of popular dishes for group celebrations, holiday gatherings and end-of-year get-togethers.

The Festive Feast begins with an individual starter plate that includes Saffron Chicken Tikka, Dahi Puri and Seekh Kebab Roti Rolls. Diners can then choose from a range of main courses such as Butter Chicken, Paneer Tikka Saag, Awadhi Lamb or Malabar Mooli Prawns, all accompanied by shared sides like Tandoori Naan, Basmati Rice and Raita. For dessert, there’s Mango Malai Cheesecake or Gulab Jamun. In addition to the food offerings, a cocktail menu has been specially created to complement the winter dishes. Options include a Maza Margarita, a Mango Caipirinha, a Pomegranate Martini and a Mango Aperol Spritz.

Roti Chai operates across two distinct spaces within its Portman Mews location: the Dining Room, located downstairs, offers a more formal experience featuring refined Indian dishes, meanwhile, the Street Kitchen upstairs provides a casual setting inspired by India’s street food culture. Both areas are open during the season, with the Dining Room available Tuesday to Saturday from 5 to 10pm, and the Street Kitchen daily from noon (or 12.30pm on Sundays). The Street Kitchen menu includes dishes such as Warm Chilli Paneer Salad, Chicken Lollipops, Pani Puri and Papri Chaat – designed for a more interactive and informal dining experience that, according to the team, reflects the “playful, vibrant street foods of India”.

While the restaurant highlights its suitability for group bookings and festive occasions, it also offers bespoke menu options for larger parties dining in the Dining Room. Advance bookings are strongly recommended.
