Pantalones Tequila by Matthew and Camila McConaughey celebrates UK launch at Waitrose with Canary Wharf pop-up

Pantalones Tequila has launched in selected Waitrose stores across the UK today, and is hosting a week-long pop-up bar at the branch in Canary Wharf to celebrate. The event, which runs from 1st to 7th December, marks the brand’s first entry into the British market and aims to introduce its Blanco variety to consumers with samples and interactive activities.

The introduction comes at a time when UK consumer interest in premium and organic spirits is on the rise. According to industry analysts, tequila has seen a steady increase in popularity, particularly among younger demographics seeking alternatives to more traditional spirits such as gin or vodka.

Pantalones was co-founded by Matthew and Camila McConaughey, who drew inspiration for the name from the Spanish word for trousers and its colloquial use as slang for guts or courage, intending to imbue their product with a spirit of boldness and light-heartedness. The London launch reflects that with free tastings for visitors, and a croquet pitch where those who purchase a bottle can play for a chance to win special prizes. The founders explained, “Pantalones Tequila is all about having the courage to make your next move, embrace fun and not take life too seriously”.
