Petersham Nurseries launches festive workshops, shopping and seasonal dining in Richmond

Petersham Nurseries in Richmond is hosting a series of seasonal events and activities throughout the winter months, offering visitors opportunities for festive shopping, creative workshops and fine dining. The programme aims to provide a space for visitors to engage with the season through hands-on experiences and curated gift selections at the Church Lane location. Located off Petersham Road in TW10, the destination is known for its horticultural heritage and rustic aesthetic, long attracting those seeking a blend of gardening, food and experiences.

The Lifestyle Shop is currently showcasing a wide range of Christmas decorations and gifts, and will remain open until 9pm on 11^th to 18^th December to accommodate late-night shopping. For those visiting on the 3^rd there’s a special programme of live carols to accompany them as they browse. As well as selecting beautiful handmade gifts and real Christmas trees, patrons of the nursery can attend workshops designed to offer “moments of creativity”, such as wreath-making (on the 6^th, 10^th and 11^th of the month) and festive flower arranging (on the 17^th). The west London institution also offers customisable hampers and a bespoke Christmas tree decorating service.

Petersham Nurseries are also highlighting the seasonal menus at their various locations. There’s a Winter Afternoon Tea selection available from this Thursday, with an array savoury offerings such as a Porchetta, Ginger and Apple Purée Vol-au Vent Tart and sweet treats including their famous mince pies – all prepared in keeping with their garden-to-table ethos using their own and locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Honouring its fleeting peak season, the white truffle has a dedicated menu during the cooler months, and on 18^th December the restaurant will host an exclusive Barolo and Truffle Wine Lunch, celebrating vintages from the Italian region curated by head of wine Tariq Khan, alongside limited-edition dishes at £195 per head.
