Oblix, the restaurant located on the 32nd floor of The Shard, will be offering a themed menu to mark Burns Night in partnership with whisky producer The Macallan. From Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th January, the special dinner will combine Scottish produce with whisky-inspired dishes, set against panoramic views of the capital. The menu aims to celebrate the legacy of Scottish poet Robert Burns, whose life and work are commemorated annually on 25th January.

The Burns Night menu at Oblix features a modern interpretation of traditional Scottish fare. Starters include Hand-cut Beef Tartare with Black Truffle and Mature Cheddar Toast, Orkney Scallop with Crispy Black Pudding and Spicy Brown Butter and Cured Salmon Carpaccio with Yuzu Dressing and Caviar Sour Cream. An amuse-bouche of Kedgeree and Smoked Haddock with Crispy Potato and Mountain Ash Roe will also be served. For the entrée, diners can choose from options such as Whisky-Smoked Black Cod with Jalapeño and Lime or Aurox Bone-In Sirloin with Whisky Ash and Beef Fat. Each dish is paired with selections from The Macallan’s range, among them The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old and The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old, designed to “allow guests to explore the whisky maker’s signature balance of richness, spice and oak alongside the dishes”.

The meal begins with a welcome cocktail crafted with The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old and concludes with a dessert of Chocolate and Pecan Bar with Caramel and Bourbon Ice Cream, accompanied by a final dram. The restaurant describes this as “a fitting tribute to the whisky house’s enduring craftsmanship and legacy”.
