Orlando von Einsiedel’s The Cycle of Love charts an extraordinary real-life journey
Dogwoof has unveiled a first look at The Cycle of Love, Academy Award-winning director Orlando von Einsiedel’s latest documentary, ahead of its release in UK and Irish cinemas this September. UK screenings will also feature an exclusive introduction from executive producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
The film tells the remarkable true story of P K Mahanandia, a 23-year-old street artist from Delhi who embarks on a 6,000-mile bicycle journey across Europe and Asia to reunite with Lotta, the Swedish woman he fell in love with during her visit to India. Armed with little more than a second-hand bicycle and a handful of paintbrushes, and inspired by an astrologer’s prophecy he believes points to their future together, PK sets off on a journey that spans continents and years.
Von Einsiedel reunites with the Academy Award-winning team behind Virunga and The White Helmets, who were granted intimate access to PK, Lotta and their families throughout the making of the film. Produced by Grain Media and Kalabati Pictures, The Cycle of Love is executive produced by Jonas alongside Anne Carey, Adriana Banta, Dan Silver, Ryan Harrington, Geralyn Dreyfous and Abhijeet Chhabra.
The newly released poster offers a first glimpse of the documentary ahead of its cinema release, introducing a film that explores love, destiny and the unexpected paths that can shape a life.
