SoBe Burger to give away 100 free brownies

SoBe Burger will give away 100 free brownies at its Kentish Town restaurant from October to customers who say the phrase “So Be Baked” at the till. The giveaway marks the start of a six-week collaboration between the London-founded smash burger chain and Leeds bakery Get Baked.

The brownies will go to the first 100 customers who give the password in store. The offer is first come, first served and limited to one brownie per person. The treats cannot be exchanged for cash, and management reserves the right to cancel the giveaway.

SoBe Burger will also hide three Golden Black Cards inside brownie boxes as part of the promotion. Each card entitles the finder to one free burger per day in store for a year. As with the treats, the cards cannot be exchanged for cash, and the offer may be cancelled at management’s discretion.

The collaboration runs until the 15^th of November. During that period, two Get Baked brownies will be on the menu at participating SoBe Burger restaurants across the UK: the Salted Chocolate Brownie and the Double Chocolate Chunk Brownie. These are the bakery’s two best-sellers.

Get Baked is an independent bakery based in Leeds. Alongside its brownies, it is known for cookies, pies and a 24-layer chocolate cake called Bertha. All of its products are developed and made by its team in Leeds, and it sells through its own shops, nationwide delivery and partnerships with other retailers.

SoBe takes its name from South Beach, Miami, where its founders first encountered smash burgers. Smash burgers are made by pressing beef patties flat on a hot griddle to give them a crisp edge.

The brownies will sit alongside SoBe’s existing menu. Its burgers include the Double Bacon Black Garlic, a National Burger Awards finalist. It combines double beef patties, melted cheese, black coffee bacon jam, crispy bacon rashers, black garlic mayonnaise, pickled onion, crispy onions and chives. Other options include the Confit Garlic Cheeseburger, made with double beef patties, cheese, crispy onions and confit garlic mayonnaise. The OG Chicken Burger features fried chicken, lettuce, house mayonnaise and pickles.
