Last night the suspense ended – the 66^th Cannes Film Festival is over. But before saying goodbye to the Promenade de la Croisette, the jury awarded prestigious prizes to their favourite artists in the competition.

Palm d’Or: La Vie d’Adèle – Chapitre 1 & 2 (Blue is the Warmest Colour) by Abdellatif Kechiche with Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux

Grand Prix: Inside Llewyn Davis by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen

Award for Best Director: Amat Escalante for Heli

Jury Prize: Soshite Chichi Ni Naru (Like Father, Like Son) by Kore-Eda Hirokazu

Third Prize ex-aequo: În Acvariu (In the Fishbowl) directed by Tudor Cristian Jurgiu (UNATC, Romania)

Joint Third Prize: Pandy (Pandas) directed by Matúš Vizár (FAMU, Czech Republic)

So this year’s winner of the most coveted Palm d’Or is French, and it was with great emotion and to thunderous applause that the director thanked the jury and the Cannes Film Festival.
