Leeds Festival 2013: Five reasons why you shouldn’t miss it

With summer reaching its final month, these long days and warm nights are soon to become a thing of the past. With that and August Bank Holiday weekend in mind, what better way to celebrate summer’s final hoorah than at Leeds Festival? Here are our top five reasons not to miss out on this year’s event:

1.    Unbelievable Line-up: 

There’s no shortage of big names across the entire weekend, starting with Nine Inch Nails, Fall Out Boy, The Lumineers, Azealia Banks and City and Colour on Friday. Saturday sees rock royalty, Green Day and System of a Down, alongside New Found Glory, Skrillex and Bastille. Rounding the weekend off are Eminem, White Lies, Alt-J and Imagine Dragons, to name a few. These and many other acts will be spread across the numerous Leeds stages.

2.    Stunning Location: 

Now in its sixth year, Leeds Festival is nothing short of historic, and Bramham Park has become a Mecca for festival-goers and music fans alike. The location is equipped with everything from food stalls and a pharmacy to a cinema tent and campsite DJs. Did we mention the eight music stages and a comedy stage too? There’s really no excuse not to enjoy yourself.

3.    BBC Introducing stage: 

In the spirit of discovering new acts and promoting them to the British music scene, festival organisers have added some exciting Brit-born bands to the BBC Introducing stage such as Amber, City of Lights, Glass Caves, I Divide and Jaws. Leeds Festival is the ideal spot to discover tomorrow’s big names.

4.    Dance to the Radio: 

Exclusive to Leeds Festival is the innovative record label Dance to the Radio who will be taking over the BBC Introducing stage on Thursday 22^nd August. They will be kicking off the weekend at Leeds in style with a number of bands such as Black Moth, The Crookes and Dutch Uncles, among others.

5.    Incredible Crowd:

Tickets are selling out fast, and with that, you can guarantee that the people going to Leeds will be serious about their music. In addition to the ideal party crowd, the festival is taking place over the last weekend of summer: the scene is set for a perfect weekend in the sun (fingers crossed!). So haul out your sunnies and wellies and pick up your tickets, if you haven’t already. If you’re planning to enjoy the entire weekend or just one night, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

Leeds Festival 2013 is on at Bramham Park from 23^rd to 25^th August 2013. 

Weekend tickets cost £202.50, day tickets (where available) for Friday, Saturday or Sunday cost £90.00, early entry permits are £15.00, campervan permits are £60.00, and lockers are £16.00. Weekend ticket prices include camping, and all prices are subject to applicable booking fees and postage.
