London College of Fashion graduate Jody Parchment’s luxury shoe collection

Jody Parchment is a recent graduate from the London College of Fashion (LCF). She first studied fashion footwear and accessories at the University of Northampton before going to LCF to follow a masters in Fashion Footwear. With her educational background, she also won the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers’ Bursary in 2009.

Her collection is called “Artisan” and is inspired from British Rococo furniture carving from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is also inspired from British heritage and traditional craftmanship. The campaign was shot at the Victoria & Albert museum in South Kensington, London.

To make her collection, she worked closely with artisans like woodcarvers and heel makers and she spent time learning their techniques to re-use for her own designs. For her “Rococo style ankle boots” below, she used Computer-aided design (CAD) wood carving and laser cutting. The collection is original and her designs are innovative and glamorous.

About her collection, Jody says : “The shoes that I design explore and challenge the boundaries between art and wearable fashion footwear.”

She certainly has achieved that, and apart from the Rococo ankle boots – and that is for practical reasons – any other of her creations can be worn on a daily basis. Especially that pair of laser cut white ankle boots below.
