Five detoxifying superfood cocktails

It’s the beginning of the New Year and time to detox – these superfood cocktails will boost your immune system and have you feeling great in no time.

Spirulina Green Juice

Blend together:

1 cucumber
2 apples
1 lemon
1 teaspoon of Spirulina

Spirulina is made out of blue-green algae sourced from salt-water lakes in South America and Africa. Spirulina is a complete protein and packed full of good vitamins. Benefits include clear skin and a promoting a healthy immune system.

Beet, Carrot, Apple and Ginger Juice

Blend together:

1 large beetroot
½ a lemon
2 large carrots
1 large apple
1 inch piece of ginger

This smoothie, thanks to the beetroot, is full of iron, vitamins A, B6, and C, and folic acid. Beetroots are known for their anti-oxidant benefits, as well as reducing cholesterol and blood pressure.   

Creamy Cherry Strawberry Kale Smoothie

Blend together:

½ cup frozen cherries
½ cup frozen strawberries 
½ cup apple juice
1 very small shake of cinnamon
1 leaf kale
1 tsp hemp oil (optional)
1 tsp flax seed oil (optional)
1 large tbsp greek yogurt

Celebrities and nutritionists adore kale. It’s high in iron, vitamins A and C, calcium, and full of anti-oxidants. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is known to love the superfood, reportedly eating nothing but kale when preparing for Iron Man 2.

The Ultimate Green Superfood Smoothie

Blend together:

2 cups young coconut water or almond milk
2 cups fresh spinach
1 cup kale
1 medium avocado, pitted
2 frozen bananas
5 dates, pitted
1 teaspoon Spirulina powder
1 teaspoon chlorella powder
½ teaspoon maca powder
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
14 – ½ teaspoon Himalayan crystal salt

It’s time to pull out the big guns. Blend together the brilliant power of these superfoods, including Spirulina and kale. Great for overall good health and boosting your immune system.

Blueberry Brain Boost Smoothie

Blend together:

1 cup fresh-pressed apple juice
1 fresh ripe banana
1 ½ cups frozen blueberries
½ cup frozen raspberries
14 cup raw walnuts, preferably soaked and drained

Blueberries are great antioxidants. Packed with vitamins A, B, C, E, zinc and iron. Blueberries have been proven to help boost the immune system, aid losing stomach fat and have even been claimed to help improve memory power!
