JW Anderson set for a classy collaboration with Topshop

JW Anderson set for a classy collaboration with Topshop

Here at The Upcoming, we love exciting fashion news and we have exactly that. It has been announced that NEWGEN London Fashion Week designer JW Anderson has collaborated with Topshop for a collection which is being launched in September.

After launching his label in 2008, the original focus of his work was menswear, but after much demand from admirers of his stunning work, JW launched a collection of womenswear and has never looked back. The paisley pyjama prints that emerged in his Spring/Summer 2012 collection have been worn by the likes of Alexa Chung who is just one in his endless list of followers. Being nominated for the Emerging Talent award from the British Fashion Council in 2011, JW is fast becoming one of the hottest designers around.

It is the ideas that have gone into this collaboration that makes it so fascinating. The collection is set to feature jersey, denim, knitwear as well as stationary such as pencils, memory sticks, Rubik’s cubes and vintage magazines. Kate Phelan, Topshop’s creative director has said: “the collection will be comprised of a best of all his design ideas to date, a sort of must-have wardrobe of covetable pieces.”

The announcement of this collaboration comes hot on the heels of the H&M x Margiela broadcast, but following in the steps of Mary Katrantzou, we know we will be first in the line at Oxford Circus this coming Autumn.
