Plymouth Point at Swamp Motel online
It’s a rough time for Katherine Stewart. For several weeks she’s been growing increasingly reliant on Ivy to do various tasks around the house, but now her young helper has disappeared, and Katherine is getting worried. She utters her concerns at the Plymouth Point Residents Watch Meeting over Zoom, where she asks the participants to do a little research on her behalf, hopefully thereby discovering Ivy’s whereabouts.
Swamp Motel’s Plymouth Point is a thrilling whodunnit for friends and family. In groups of up to six people, all done via Zoom, the audience participates in this interactive theatrical experience to find out what happened to Ivy Isklander. The entire experience takes place over the course of roughly 60 minutes; in this reviewer’s experience, that was just about spot-on. As part of the solution, the audience is asked to browse social media, company websites, and to do a little historical research to discover a secret plot involving evil sects, witches, and magical artefacts. Providing any more detail than this would necessarily involve unwanted spoilers.
It’s a brilliantly exciting ride; you’ll find yourself discovering secret passwords and exploring the obscure history of London you may never have heard of, making it both interesting and engaging. While a lot of the plot is a bit silly, and the performances a little on the overacting side, none of these points mar the general experience. It’s not meant to be taken too seriously but is just a fantastic way to get a few chills’n’thrills. Through the simple reason that it’s an interactive experience, the audience is drawn in, roots for the main characters, and feels shocked at some of the developments.
Plymouth Point can best be summed up as part escape room, part Dan Brown novel and part whodunnit. Joining forces with friends and family via Zoom, the experience is very fun indeed and is easily recommended to be tackled during the lockdown.
