“This second season is gonna explode your mind and your heart, and embrace you deeper than the first”: The cast of Acapulco on season two

The vibrant comedy global hit Acapulco from executive producer Eugenio Derbez is back for a second season on Apple TV+, bringing to screen a ten-part human-centred story set against a backdrop of 80s hits and vibrant shades of pink.

Picking up from where season one left off, the story unfolds around the staff, owners and guests at the most exclusive resort in Acapulco, Los Colinas. It’s the mid-80s and flanked by the hotel owner Dianne (Jessica Collins), who provides viewers with the epitome of glamour, marked by shoulder pads and Hollywood gloss, we discover more about her intriguing past, her son’s engagement, two best friends who work at the resort and their extended family issues and affairs of the heart.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of speaking to Collins and Rafael Cebrián about what this season will bring, mixing private and work lives and what viewers can expect.

Regina Reynoso and Vanessa Bauche spoke about their portrayal of mother and daughter and what it means to them to have some particularly difficult storylines this coming season.

Camila Perez and Chord Overstreet further told us about their on-screen relationship, their characters’ wedding plans and what viewers can expect from a bolder, brighter second season.

We then chatted to Enrique Arrizon and Fernando Carsa about working with an ensemble cast, some of the challenges their characters’ face in this series and what their friendship means to them.
