Cook your catch at The Sea, The Sea: The Hackney seafood restaurant reintroduces monthly masterclasses

Hackney’s chef’s table restaurant The Sea, The Sea is reintroducing its exclusive seafood masterclasses, offering Londoners a unique learning experience. Starting on Saturday 23rd September, and recurring monthly, these masterclasses present an  opportunity for seafood enthusiasts to hone their skills under the expert guidance of executive chef Leandro Carriera.

Spanning a duration of three hours, from 11am to 2pm, participants will immerse themselves in a comprehensive seafood workshop. Each session begins with a welcome drink, before moving on to the hands-on demonstrations. Attendees will engage in practical seafood preparation, experimenting with diverse cooking and plating techniques, ensuring they grasp every nuance of creating mouth-watering dishes.

But it’s not just about the learning. The masterclass is followed by a three-course lunch, where the fruits of everyone’s labour can be savoured. The dishes are paired with two glasses of wine, promising a gastronomic treat priced at £150 per person.

What makes The Sea, The Sea stand out is its unrelenting commitment to sustainable British seafood. Participants will work with only the finest produce, sourced directly from dayboat fishermen in Looe, Cornwall. The fresh catch reaches London in under 24 hours, ensuring unmatched freshness and quality.

Novices needn’t be apprehensive, no prior culinary expertise is required, only passion for cooking and a desire to learn. The upcoming dates are Saturday 23rd September, Saturday 14th October  and Saturday 18th November.
