London palladium to celebrate Cool Rider tenth anniversary with star-studded concert

The London Palladium is set to host the tenth-anniversary concert of Cool Rider, the beloved tribute to the classic film Grease 2, on Sunday 14th April at 7 pm. The event, organised by TuckShop in collaboration with producers Christopher D Clegg and James DP Drury, promises to bring fans of the cult musical sequel a nostalgic and entertaining experience.

Headlining the reunion concert are West End stars Aaron Sidwell, known for his roles in Lord of the Rings and Wicked, and Ashleigh Gray, who has graced the stage in Wicked and Only Fools and Horses The Musical. They will be reprising their roles as Michael Carrington and Stephanie Zinone, respectively. Joining them is Kitty Scott-Claus, the RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star, taking on the role of The French One. In an exciting twist, Maxwell Caulfield, the original Michael Carrington from Grease 2, will be joining the cast, adding a touch of authenticity to the faculty roles.

Cool Rider is a homage to the Grease sequel, complete with a pastiche of its iconic scenes, from a high school romance blossoming in a bowling alley to a talent show finale. The concert will feature memorable songs from the film, including Cool RiderScore Tonight and Reproduction, among others.

The production team includes director Christopher D Clegg, with musical direction and orchestrations by Lee Freeman, choreography by Matt Krzan, and original direction by Guy Unsworth. The technical aspects are covered by Toby Darvill’s lighting design and Will Thompson’s sound design. The show is a testament to the enduring popularity of Grease 2, and it follows other successful drag and parody shows produced by the company, such as Death Drop: Back In The Habit and Miz Cracker in Who’s Holiday.

Tickets for the one-night-only event are on sale now, offering fans of the film and musical a chance to relive the magic and the music of Cool Rider and Grease 2 on stage.
