Visionary director Luca Guadagnino’s latest feature film, Challengers, is set to captivate cinema audiences across the UK starting 26th April 2024. The drama stars an ensemble cast featuring Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, weaving a tale of ambition, love and competitive spirit within the world of professional tennis. Challengers follows the story of Tashi Duncan, portrayed by Zendaya, a former tennis prodigy turned coach, who devises a controversial plan to revive her husband’s dwindling career, setting the stage for an intense showdown with his friend-turned-rival.

The film, distributed by Warner Bros Pictures, marks another ambitious project by the Oscar and BAFTA nominee Guadagnino, known for his acclaimed works Call Me By Your Name and I Am Love. Alongside Zendaya’s powerful lead, the cast includes Golden Globe and SAG Award winner O’Connor and BAFTA nominee Faist. The screenplay is penned by Justin Kuritzkes, with production helmed by Amy Pascal, Guadagnino, Zendaya and Rachel O’Connor.

Guadagnino reunites with his trusted creative team, including director of photography Sayombhu Mukdeeprom, production designer Merissa Lombardo, editor Marco Costa and costume designer Jonathan Anderson. Adding to the film’s artistic depth, the score is crafted by the award-winning duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, celebrated for their works in SoulThe Social Network and Bones and All.
