Firebird & Friends series returns in celebration of International Women’s Month

Firebird, a female-owned, open-fire restaurant located in the heart of Soho, celebrates International Women’s Month with the return of its Firebird & Friends series. The programme, running throughout March, will spotlight some of London’s most distinguished female figures in hospitality, chefs, restaurateurs and sommeliers. Following the success of last year’s inaugural edition, Firebird aims to once again highlight the achievements of women from kitchens and vineyards around the world, featuring a diverse range of culinary talents from countries such as Mexico, Malaysia, Scandinavia, and Ecuador.

The series promises to take diners on an international gastronomic journey, showcasing a variety of grill dishes alongside exceptional wines and spirits from female-led wineries and distilleries. Among some of the highlights in the calendar, there are an evening of Mexican-Ecuadorian asado grilling with chefs Adriana Cavita (Cavita) and Ana Ortiz (Firemade), paired with natural Mexican wines selected by Mariana Fonseca (Sager and Wine) on Friday, 8th March. Another dinner not to miss is the one featuring modern Malaysian cuisine prepared by Abby Lee (Mambow), with wine pairings by Anna Dolgushina (Firebird) on Wednesday, 20th March. The series will also include a night of ancient Scandinavian cooking by Theres Andersson (Ekstedt), accompanied by modern Nordic drinks curated by Ania Smelskaya (April Wines) on Monday, 25th March.

Each event in the Firebird & Friends series is priced at £70 per person for a four-course dinner, with an optional wine pairing available for an additional £45 per person. These evenings won’t only serve as a celebration of International Women’s Month but will also provide an opportunity for London’s food enthusiasts to experience the culinary excellence and innovative spirit of these talented women.

Firebird and its team are excited to offer these distinctive dining experiences and to continue supporting and spotlighting the contributions of women in the culinary world.
