Eggbreak to bring Notting Hill brunch pop-up to Gleneagles Townhouse during Edinburgh Festival Fringe

London brunch restaurant Eggbreak will host a month-long pop-up at The Spence, located within Gleneagles Townhouse in Edinburgh, this August. The collaboration coincides with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, bringing the popular Notting Hill eatery’s breakfast and brunch menu to the Scottish capital for hotel guests, members and the general public. The temporary residency will take place under The Spence’s glass-domed atrium at the lauded Gleneagles Townhouse, which gained a Michelin Guide One Key distinction in 2024.

Eggbreak, which specialises in egg-based contemporary brunch offerings, will serve a selection of its signature dishes for breakfast on weekdays between 7 and 10.30am, with an extended menu offered from 8 to 11am on weekends. Weekday options include the Eggbreak Benedict, served with Scottish smoked salmon or hardwood smoked bacon, Turkish Eggs with dill yoghurt and a cheese toastie, Nutella French Toast and House Quinoa Granola with date yoghurt, orange and blueberries. The weekend menu features more elaborate dishes such as Wilde’s Deli Sunrise Shakshuka (a spiced tomato dish with poached eggs, served with a salt beef toastie), a Mexican Omelette with avocado and feta, and Ari’s Pancakes with banana, raspberries and salted caramel butter. Beverage options include iced matcha and fruit-infused teas.

Notting Hill’s Eggbreak restaurant uses only free-range eggs and sources them from Fenton Farm in England. For the Edinburgh pop-up, The Spence’s kitchen will continue to use eggs from Nith Valley, alongside other locally sourced Scottish ingredients such as Glen & Co smoked salmon and Perthshire berries.

Commenting on the collaboration, Ewan Grant, general manager of Gleneagles Townhouse, said: “We’re bringing a little bit of Notting Hill to St Andrew Square during the festival. Fun, comforting and effortlessly cool. For early birds, breakfast lovers and those chasing the perfect yolk, this one is worth getting out of bed for!”
