KOL and acclaimed New York restaurant Atomix to unite in London for one day on 19 August

Next Tuesday 19th August, chefs Santiago Lastra of London’s KOL and Junghyun Park of Atomix in New York will collaborate for a one-day culinary experience in Marylebone. The event will feature both lunch and dinner services and will unite distinct culinary philosophies, offering diners an opportunity to enjoy a combined tasting menu from two of the world’s most celebrated restaurants.

Lastra, who specialises in reinterpretation of Mexican cuisine, will host the occasion at his Michelin-starred restaurant, KOL. The chef’s approach blends traditional Mexican flavours with locally sourced British produce, with results that have earned KOL a place on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for three consecutive years – most recently in June of this year. Joining him is Park – commonly known as JP – who, alongside his wife and business partner Ellia Park, runs Atomix in New York. The two-Michelin-starred restaurant offers modern Korean tasting menus and meticulous attention to detail, currently ranking at number 12 on The World’s 50 Best – the highest placement for any American restaurant on the list.

Next week’s eight-course selection will include contributions from both chefs. Dishes from the Atomix team include Gim Bugak, Sea Urchin, White Kimchi, Marigold Rice and Sundubu, Sweet Shrimp, Razor Clam, Chilli Oil. Meanwhile, from KOL’s kitchen, guests can expect offerings such as Lamb Rack, Koji Mole, Oxalis and Purple Carrot and Birch, Koji, Apple, Buttermilk. Beverage pairings curated by the restaurant’s drinks team will accompany the menu.

Tickets for the experience are priced at £250 per person, with lunch served from noon till 4pm, and dinner following from 17.45pm to midnight.
