New London cookbook Order Up! to raise funds for hospitality workers with exclusive recipes from 20 local eateries

A new cookbook spotlighting 20 popular London eateries will be published this November, with all proceeds going to support the UK’s hospitality sector. Titled Order Up!, the release is a collaborative project between payment platform Square and publisher Penguin Random House, and aims to raise funds for Hospitality Action, a charity that supports workers in the industry.

Order Up! features exclusive, previously unpublished recipes from a diverse range of London establishments, including well-known names such as Honey & Co and Bread Ahead, as well as smaller neighbourhood favourites like Saltine, Fink’s and Tom’s Pasta. The book also includes recipes from street food vendors such as World Famous Gordos and Little Bao Boy. In addition to recipes, there are chapter introductions and commentary from a number of social media food creators – including Giuseppe Federici (also known as Sepps), Toby Inskip (Eatingwithtod) and Jackson from Black Eats LDN – who provide personal insights and context for the featured restaurants and dishes.

The initiative is structured so that 50% of the proceeds from each copy sold will go to Hospitality Action, while the remaining 50% will go directly to the restaurant where the book is purchased. If it is bought via Square’s dedicated website, the full amount will be donated to Hospitality Action.

The featured venues span all corners of London. The North is represented by All Nations Vegan, Senza Fondo, Saltine and Fink’s. From the East, the lineup includes Tom’s Pasta, World Famous Gordos, Back to Ours, Earl’s and Little Bao Boy. Meanwhile, Southern contributors are Bread Ahead, Aries Bakehouse, Brickwood, Milk, Good as Gold and Lulu’s, and finally the West’s entries feature Honey & Co, Crunch, Broken Eggs, Shori and Kaffeine.

According to the publishers, the project was launched in response to the ongoing challenges faced by hospitality businesses and workers in the aftermath of the pandemic – and amid a cost-of-living crisis. By directing proceeds to both the restaurants and a support charity, the book aims to provide financial relief and long-term support to those in the sector.
